Case study

A villa you walk into before you book it.

Vaitea is a private overwater villa on its own stretch of the Aitutaki lagoon in the Cook Islands. One thatched pavilion, reached by a single timber walkway, built from stone, teak and glass, and ending at an infinity pool that meets the horizon. A place like that doesn't fit in a grid of thumbnails, so we built its website to be walked through: from the lagoon to the infinity edge in one continuous scroll, with a single request for a viewing waiting at the end.

The experience

Six spaces, one move, no cuts

The lagoon, the arrival deck, the pavilion, the terrace, the suite and the edge. Three hundred frames play as the visitor scrolls, so they travel through the villa instead of jumping between photos, and a frame counter shows how much of it is left.
